Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about leasing equipment with AgLeaseCo.

What is agricultural leasing?

Agricultural leasing lets you access equipment — tractors, irrigation systems, harvesters, and more — by paying for its use over time, rather than paying the full purchase price upfront. AgLeaseCo owns the equipment during the lease term; you use it on your farm.

Buying equipment outright ties up capital that could otherwise go into inputs, labour, land, or expansion. Leasing lets you access productive equipment immediately while spreading the cost over a term matched to your income cycle — keeping your cash free for the rest of your business.

Equipment across the full agricultural value chain — irrigation, land preparation, sowing and planting, weeding and crop care, harvesting and threshing, and storage. Browse our Equipment page for available categories.

A minimum down payment of 25% of the equipment price is required.

Lease terms (tenors) range from 2 to 5 years, depending on the equipment and your circumstances.

You can repay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, or on a seasonal schedule structured around your harvest cycle.

Rates are charged on a reducing balance and vary depending on your lease amount, generally between 30% and 39% per annum. Your exact rate is confirmed during your application.

Yes, an arrangement/processing fee applies, based on the size of your lease. This is confirmed as part of your application, before you commit to a lease.

Yes — insurance is required for tractors, trailers, and 2-wheel tractors (2WT).

No additional collateral is required beyond the leased equipment itself.

Yes. You can settle your lease early by paying the remaining balance, less future interest.

If you're at risk of missing a payment, contact AgLeaseCo as early as possible so we can work with you. Continued non-payment can lead to repossession of the equipment, as set out in your lease agreement.
